About

When I'm not pushing pixels, you can usually find me out exploring the local trails with my family and our dogs! If it's too cold for that, we're playing cards by a fireplace.Otherwise, I like making art on occasion and enjoy exploring Spotify for new music. My favorite guitar tuning is drop C.I'm a continuous learner, dedicated to honing my design craft.

As a UX designer, I try to incorporate human-centered design principles into all my work. My aim is to create impactful solutions that resonate with people. My favourite aspect of design work is the discovery of unknown unknowns; when working directly with people and articulating their problem space leads to solutions that address latent needs or other factors that weren't even on our radar at the outset. When I'm not pushing pixels, you can usually find me out walking local trails with my family and our dogs! I most enjoy the sound of guitars tuned to drop C and love exploring Spotify for new music.

UX AT XMATTERS

As a Sr. Product Design Engineer at xMatters, I enjoy building and improving features using UX research insights to enhance customers’ incident resolution capabilities.I was recently the lead UX contributor on IT Service Management research that led to the implementation of a new tiered response paradigm and service type classification. These new controls in the xMatters UI (and API) extend and improve classification and prioritization of impacted assets for incident commanders.

Due to confidentiality agreements, I can't disclose details of active research or features that are in flight, but upon request I can provide samples of my work that's shipped to product.

UX at the University of TOronto

I was privileged to enjoy 5 exciting years working in the Division of People Strategy, Equity & Culture.

Working in an embedded internal communications & change unit and partnering closely with peers in IT, I was part of a talented team modernizing the technology used by university employees every day to apply to jobs, attend training, manage performance, seek HR resources, and much more.As a Digital Media Specialist, then UX Analyst, I was dedicated to internal communication, research, and human-centered digital experiences for faculty, librarians, and staff of Canada's premier research institute.During this time I consulted and contributed design to internal sites but mainly led the redesign of the division's public website, people.utoronto.ca, an effort that was recognized by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals with a Hermes Creative Gold Award.
