Crooked Rook

A doodle turned into a logo for a restaurant or a pub. Or maybe a craft beer distillery?

This freehand illustration was one of my first forays into hand-lettering. While I’m happy to say that these skill have improved since this piece, I definitely appreciate the way the imperfect letterforms lend to the “Crooked” aesthetic.

I’m particularly pleased with the way that the stylized stroke under the wordmark echoes the battlements of the depicted tower.
